Positional Plagiocephaly

We are leaving later today to head down to AR children's hospital in Little Rock for our appointment tomorrow at 1pm. Benjamin was recently diagnosed with positional plagiocephaly, which is a just a fancy word for a head deformity. The back of his head is flat due to his soft spot closing up too soon...which is what caused to him to have this diagnosis. The nurses and doctors have assured me that surgery is NOT an option...at least not at this point. I don't really know much at this time about what is going on and will know more tomorrow after we meet with the specialist. But, our dr. here mentioned him being fitted for a helmet or a band, which he will have to wear all the time for a few months until his head reshapes itself.

Please be in prayer for us that we will be able to trust the dr.s to know what is right. Also, please pray for the drs that they will make the right decision and do what is best for our little Benjamin. And last but not least, please pray for Benjamin that his head will reshape nicely and we will not have to go the other route...surgery.

I will update more tomorrow when we get back from Little Rock and let you all know how everything went and what the drs are saying about this.
